Welcome to monymusk Playgroup & toddlers
Monymusk Playgroup and Toddlers is a member of the Scottish Pre–school Play Association (SPPA) and is a registered charity No. SC016984 with a written constitution. The group is run by a Committee of parents and carers whose children attend Playgroup or Toddlers. Committee meetings are held regularly to help run the playgroup successfully.
There are currently three members of staff, Dorothea our Playgroup Manager, and Jaqui and Valerie our Play–Assistants. The Playgroup is open to children from age three and we can sometimes accommodate two–and–a–half year olds on certain days.
Our separate Parent & Toddler sessions are for babies and children under the age of 3 (and their older siblings) and it is a good way to meet other parents in the area, which can be a great support particularly if you have a new baby.
The groups run at Monymusk Hall on the following days and times:
Playgroup: Monday to Fridays 9.10am - 12.20pm
Toddlers: Wednesdays 9:30am – 11:30am
Aims of the Playgroup
We aim to offer activities suited to the individual needs of the children and their ages and stages of development, based on the Birth to 18 Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) set by the Scottish Executive.
We provide a safe, stimulating and caring play environment for the children, and have a bright and welcoming playroom where all children and adults are treated with respect.
We evaluate the quality of our service on a regular basis in order to ensure a high standard of care is delivered.
We record and assess significant steps in the children’s learning and development by keeping children's profiles and make sure we share these findings with parents and carers.
We aim to establish a partnership with you, which will continue throughout your child’s education.
